Young Leaders Advisory Board (YLAB)

Our Young Leaders Advisory Board (YLAB) is just one of the programs we have in place to channel the input and harness the incredible energy of the young generation at Aramco. YLAB was established in 2011 as an autonomous body that acts as a bridge between the youth of the company and its executive management.

Members come from across the Company and represent a diverse group of nationalities, backgrounds, and work experiences.

YLAB has become a self-sustaining program that is both highly competitive and greatly respected within the Company.


At Aramco, there's a unique body dedicated to 'Generation-Y' that ensures the youth have a voice in the company's strategy and decision making. It's called Y-LAB, the Young Leaders Advisory Board.

Driven to explore

Starting with just a small group of intrepid explorers, our history goes back more than 80 years.

Aramco traces its beginnings to 1933 when a Concession Agreement was signed between Saudi Arabia and the Standard Oil Company of California (SOCAL). The work began right away. After surveying the Saudi desert for oil, drilling began in 1935.

Following years of effort with little to show for it, in 1937 SOCAL executives sought advice from their chief geologist, Max Steineke. Drawing on years of fieldwork, Steineke told them to keep on drilling.
